Gratitude to Lucien Culot
(only in French)
- What I ought to L Culot (by Axel Bonaert): When I was 9, Lucien was guiding many groups of visitors in the summer. I was listening to him carefully.
- One day after having guided 4 groups in the afternoon, came a father and his young daughter. Lucien was tired and turned to me: "Do you want to have a trial ?" I was expecting it for a while and started in this way more than 50 years of an hobby: guiding visitors.
- After 1952, mechanisation was introduced to facilitate cutting the hedges and mawing the gras. Hence, Lucien remained alone as sole gardener.
- I was impressed at how he could cut hedges for hours enduring the noise of the air compressor, as well as how he was moving the heavy grassmower: an example that gave me the strength to take later gardening in Freÿr as a hobby-duty.
