Looking from the Lower to the Upper Garden
-
Another interesting point is to be found in the lower garden,
which is twice more wide (near 250 meters) than long (125 meters).
It prohibits the use of rectangular beds along the perpendicular axis.
-
Instead the beds are square but repeated twice more along the perpendicular axis to visually reduce this scale difference.
-
Rectangularity is nevertheless to be found in the stretched fountains on both sides of major axis in the lower gardens.
-
The upper and last part of the garden displays a more “modern” aspect with its octagonal fountains
and the surrounding beds of various shapes.
